Get Started on Tiktok
Your first step to get started is to create an account. Be sure to start with your first name so you can be recognized in the chat room.
Once you have your account all set up and ready, it’s time for you to find your friends! You can do this by searching for people or going through the list.
Once you’ve found a friend, click on their profile picture, which will take you to their profile page. At the top of the page, there should be a button that says “Tiktok Live.” Click on this and then select someone from the list of people who are available to go live with at that moment. If they’re currently unavailable, there will be a message below saying “I’m busy at the moment” or if they’re online but not online now, they will say “I’m currently offline.”
When you have selected someone who is available and has said that they’re ready for a live session with you, press “Start Chat” right below their profile picture. This will start your chat session!
At any time during your chat session with another person, if you want them to stop chatting with you and leave the chat room instead of continuing the conversation via text, press
Chat Functionality
Tiktok is a social media platform, which means that its main function is to give you the opportunity to connect with others. With that being said, it would make sense for there to be chat functionality.
Chatting on Tiktok is very simple. Once you’re logged in, you’ll see a chat bubble at the bottom of your profile page and in the chat bar when someone messages or starts a chat with you. To start chatting, click “start chatting.” You can also find chats by clicking on the green search button and typing in what you’re looking for.
If someone sends you a message, they get notified that you have received their message and they will receive a notification on their profile page. If they do not get notified, they will have to go into settings and check their notifications.
To send a message back or reply, click on the envelope icon located on the top right side of your profile page when viewing your own profile. This will take them back to your profile where they can read what you had written and decide if they want to continue talking.

How to make friends and talk about your day.
There are a few things you’ll need to get started on Tiktok. First, you’ll need a webcam. Second, you’ll need an account on Tiktok. And third, you’ll need to type in your username and password in the app!
Once all of that is done, it’s time to go live! One of the first things you’ll want to do when going live is decide what kind of content you want to share with the world. You can choose from topics like “What I’m Watching,” “What I’m Listening To,” “What I’m Reading,” or even just talk about your day.
Next, once you’re ready to start streaming, click on the big yellow button in the bottom-right corner that says “Go Live!” A window will pop up and ask if anyone is watching your stream. At this point, make sure nobody is near or on your computer or else they might be able to listen in! Once everything is set up and ready for when you go live, click on the little red button at the top of your page that says “Start Streaming.”
